Martin Luther King Jr, an American icon who strived tirelessly for peace, love and equality. On so doing, he captured the hearts and minds of people all over the globe.
He was a great beacon of light, dedicated to spiritual enlightenment and social justice and had a great affection for humanity and equality.
In that light, as well, perhaps you can say that the ultimate demonstrations of love were exemplified by the acts of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. where he promoted peace, empathy and camaraderie.
Despite a death which goes directly against nearly every humane, Godly, or socially spiritual picture which man can fathom… Martin Luther King, following the ethics of Mahatma Gandhi shocked the world with a simplistic, communicative, plus action-oriented tool called “non-violent civil disobedience.”
The scope of such a choice had remarkable impact, it involves the highly conscious, intentional, and biblical decision to avoid harm to another human being in any way, shape, or form.
MARTIN LUTHER KING – I HAVE A DREAM SPEECH
Martin Luther King, Jr.’s non-violent style still stands as a beacon of social acceptance and spiritual enlightenment, even today.
In a world where both personal and professional disagreement, discord, challenges, or quarrels are essentially settled by the power of physical might… it was Martin Luther King, Jr. who took the time to examine, adopt, and utilize a different approach which was easily understood by the masses. As we are all made in God’s image where love is the overpowering force, it is easy to understand the spiritual connection.
Through Dr. King’s methods, numerous handfuls of ordinary unarmed citizens became able to sit peacefully when approached by the dangerous threat of high powered fire hoses, gun-toting militia, and even viscous, law-enforced attack dogs.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. – MLK
Not only was this unique “pacifist” approach highly effective; but even more importantly, it also struck the monumental cord of empathy from worldwide watchers. These were acts that essentially “converted” the “backward” or antiquated thoughts of racial inequality into much more widespread beliefs of acceptance, peace, and understanding.
Yet, the ultimate price had to be paid… and Martin Luther King, Jr. is the person who decided that LOVE at all costs was well worth essentially ANY sacrifice for humanitarian enhancement which needed to be made in this world. His legacy will live on as we all begin to strive for all that he stood for.
